OUR HOTEL

Rooms & Suites

The rooms at Casa Gangotena Boutique Hotel in Quito, with double and king-size beds, are arranged across all three floors. Remaining faithful to the design of the old house, rooms vary in size, yet all of them stay quite spacious, averaging around 35 square meters (377 square feet). The mansion’s tall, elegant ceilings benefit our rooms, drawing bright Andean sunlight into their interiors.

Their decoration consists of plush carpets, towering window frames, flowing curtains, and Art Deco furniture such as desks, armoires, tables, and armchairs. All rooms are air-conditioned, carpeted, non-smoking and sound-proofed. All have their private bathroom (nearly all with separate bathtubs and showers). Amenities include:

  • Telephones.
  • Smart key cards.
  • In-room safe boxes.
  • Wireless internet.
  • A flat-screen TV with international cable channels.

On the ground floor, our two Luxury rooms are accessed from the flower garden with its gorgeous fountain. On the first floor, the Balcony Junior Suite overlooks the garden with views towards the south of the city and the winged Virgin on her hilltop. The Junior Suite is uniquely located, connecting the two wings of the mansion on the first floor, decorated with delicate murals.
Nine Luxury rooms and four Plaza View rooms are on the first floor. We have eight Luxury rooms and four Plaza View rooms on the second floor. On both the first and second floors, suites can be created by connecting two Luxury rooms and removing the beds from one. These can also make fabulous inter-connected rooms for families traveling together. Finally, two Luxury rooms complete the picture of our third floor, with easy access to the beautiful terrace.

Luxury Rooms

Casa Gangotena's Luxury rooms invite guests to relax in style, enjoying the peace created by its luxurious upholstery, plush carpets, fine linen, and rich furnishings that adorn each room.

Luxury Plus

The Luxury Plus room occupies the end of the southwestern wing of the property. Striking neoclassical columns rise around the room, topped with ornate stuccowork, interrupting the floral Art Nouveau frieze around the cornice.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suite is one of the unique rooms in the house. This room used to be the "tea room" of the Gangotena family, where the family's women and friends would gather. Situated on the first floor, the spacious Junior Suite features an original, 360-degree restored mural depicting a hunting scene. The Junior Suite overlooks the garden and the Panecillo hillside.

Balcony Junior Suite

Located on the first floor, at the end of the southwestern wing of the property, the Balcony Junior Suite is undeniably romantic. The room has a balcony that overlooks the garden and offers picturesque views of the Virgin of Quito atop her hill. Neoclassical stucco columns adorn the room. The delightful bathroom features two large windows that draw in the Andean light, while beautiful columns and black-and-white veined marble complete the picture.

Suite

Indulge in luxury and comfort with our interconnecting Luxury Rooms located on the first and second floors at the end of the western wing of the property. Perfect for families or visiting dignitaries, these rooms offer ample space and can be converted into suites for an even more opulent experience.

Plaza View Rooms

Located along the mansion's northern facade, these rooms afford stunning views of the Historical Center, including the church and convent of San Francisco and its expansive cobbled square. The rooms are graced with ample natural light and rich, sophisticated décor.

I found my passion in Tourism and Hospitality at a young age. All of my trips inside and outside of Ecuador inspired me to pursue a professional degree in Tourism, where I learned the technical and theoretical aspects of the industry. This job allowed me to develop the ability to support clients in different stages of trip planning in an effective way. Usually, when I am not working, you can find me traveling and meeting new places. My favorite destination so far is The Galapagos Islands.
