Galapagos

Live the experience!

Description

The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean renowned for their unique and unphased wildlife and otherworldly landscapes. The islands belong to Ecuador (in northwestern South America) and are 600 miles (1,000 km) west of the country’s coast. Despite their proximity to the equator, the islands enjoy cooler ocean currents, resulting in an unusual blend of tropical and temperate climates.

Our tours are fulfilled through some of the best-in-class expedition vessels and hotels available throughout the islands, providing your clients with plush accommodations, top-tier service, unforgettable experiences and activities, and exquisite gastronomy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are the Galapagos Islands located and how do I get there?
The archipelago sits 1000 km (600 mi) off the coast of Ecuador and covers an area of almost 8,000 km2 (3,030 mi2). All international flights to the Galapagos must stop directly at Quito Airport or Guayaquil Airport. Depending on your client’s departure date and itinerary, they will land in the Galapagos at Baltra Airport or San Cristobal Airport.
No seasons exist in the Galapagos Islands because they’re along the equatorial line. However, two weather patterns are recognizable yearly: The Hot Season (December to June) and the Dry Season (June to November). This means that Galapagos is a year-round destination. Therefore, the best time to visit the Galapagos Islands depends on what your clients want to experience.
Aboard an expedition vessel, your clients will visit more places and see more wildlife in the company of an expert Naturalist Guide. Exploring the archipelago on an expedition yacht is preferred by adventurers because they get to visit more without losing much daylight between trips. Expedition vessels can only travel long distances from island to island at night. However, staying on land allows guests to enjoy the Galapagos more leisurely.
The Galapagos Islands are an excellent learning experience for all age groups, though age restrictions do apply to some expedition vessels. Children under 6 years old need special permission from their parents or guardians to board a Galapagos cruise.
Snorkeling gear will be provided to guests onboard all our cruises. During the hot season, warmer water currents will make it possible to swim without a wetsuit. If your clients plan to go for a long swim or snorkeling, they might consider wearing a wetsuit. In the dry season, the water gets cooler due to colder currents, and some guests prefer to wear a wetsuit.
Yes, there’s cell phone coverage, but only in the vicinity of the inhabited islands. Aboard our expedition vessels, especially when traveling from island to island, cell phone coverage will be nonexistent. Due to weak signals, international data roaming only works sometimes in the islands. Wi-Fi is accessible in our expedition vessels.
When requested in advance, most special dietary requirements can be arranged. Expedition vessels have a more extensive kitchen staff, and they are more likely to be able to accommodate special requests.
Our expedition vessels allow your clients to visit multiple islands, remote locations, and experience the best of the archipelago’s fauna and flora. On the other hand, land-based tours are a way to spend more time on the three main islands: Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, and Isabela.
Booking a Galapagos Islands tour between six months and a year in advance is advisable, even for less busy periods. This allows you to ensure availability if your client wants to visit specific islands or attractions.

On our ships, we offer a fun activity for young and old alike: stargazing. Of course, those who want to share a good conversation over a nightcap are always welcome to mingle in the lounge.
